Welcome to GIST.

Everyone with whom we're connected online is searchable. Every blog comment, tweet, online profile, even reviews at places like Amazon, are searchable. But tracking down all of that information can be awfully time-consuming.

Gist takes the legwork out of finding out what you need to know about your clients and business contacts before you talk to them. An indispensable tool for anyone in sales, Gist is what Outlook wishes it could have been; not just contact management, Gist is knowledge management. Relationship management.

I did check out the website. I must admit it can keep you up to date on all of the important people in you circle of influence. But, I'm not so sure how much is too much. I'll let you know more after I join and see how it actually works. I am hoping it is good! Thanks,

Hi Paige, I did check out GIST. First I see it is in Beta Testing -so not all of the bugs are worked out yet - could be why it is free. Second, in their Terms section I see that they want passwords to all of my online accounts to which they will be linking. This is a concern. I have not run across this before, any sites that offer automated e-mails have not asked for "passwords". Please by careful.

Hi Patricia,

Thanks for your feedback.

GIST has been a valuable tool for me and is widely utilized by my business associates across the country.  By pulling profile information available online, it provides a list of contacts with details that would have taken me months to find and some information that I would never find.  I certainly understand that GIST won't provide the same value to everyone.  But, since it has been a valuable resource for me and my business, I wanted to pass the information along to my fellow ActiveRain members.

A thorough review of any new product or tool is always recommended to determine if it's right for you and your business.

Have a great day!
